A large and very attractive gray schist figure of a pensive Bodhisattva Gandhara, 2nd/3rd century - north west of Pakistan
Seated in a Royal Ease on a cushioned throne his with one foot resting on a support and the other drawn up to support his elbow, his right hand raised to the temple while the left holds a lotus, he dressed in a dhoti and sanghati and adorned with multiple necklaces and jewels, his face is tilted to the side in deep thought surmounted by a turban with lotiform crest and backed by a nimbus.
Size: 100 cm high Weight: 80 to 100 kg round.
condition: Repaired from nimbus with broken finger of his right hand and missing fingers of his right feet, with aging chips and other minor losses ( see all images for more details)
